The onboard radio amateur experiment was proposed by Professor Douglas Santos - PY2GDS
and the Amateus Radio Club of Americana/SP (CRAM): Adinei Brochi - PY2ADN, William Schauff - PY2GN,
Hamilton Horta - PY2NI, Junior Zappia - PU2LAA, João Ferreira - PY2JF,
Demilson Quintão - PY2UEP and Edson Pereira - PY2SDR.
The CRAM experiment consist of randomly transmitting 100 MD5 strings previously stored in
the satellite internal memory. This sequence is used as a contest among amateur radio stations
all over the world, as an online card album. The card images are choosen according to its
relevance to some knowledge areas: science; technology; engineering and mathemathics.
This project is being developed by amateur radio users and universities.
The AESP-14 satellite will be launched into space from the International Space Station (ISS)
and will fly the same orbit at first. The CRAM messages and all satellite telemetry are
transmitted on 437.6MHz (70cm amateur radio band) using AX.25 protocol modulated on G3RUH (GFSK)
at 9600 bps. Refer to telemetry documentation here for
decoding instructions.
The first 10 amateur radio stations that report received the 100 messages of the CRAM sequence
will receive a comemorative reward card. Further information will be published here.
